CALL FOR ENTRIES
ARTISTS: We invite you to be a candidate to exhibit your artwork in two shows in 2012:
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, and LYON, FRANCE.
PLEASE READ COMPLETELY: Submissions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Past participants/current members of St. Louis-Lyon Sister Cities, Inc. will be given priority, since there is a limited amount of space available, especially for shipping to France. These are International Fine Art Exhibitions/Cultural Exchanges between France and the USA. Prices shall not be posted, but prospective buyers may contact artists. Insurance values/sale prices MUST be provided for all pieces.
The committee has the right to decline artwork that may be deemed objectionable/controversial, or does not meet the requirements/deadlines. Nudity has been rejected in past St. Louis shows, since the exposition is in a public building.
If accepted, a $15.00 ENTRY FREE PER ARTIST must be paid to help offset the escalating shipping costs and newly levied U.S. Customs Fees, for our involvement in both annual shows, and 2012 MEMBERSHIP to St. Louis-Lyon Sister Cities, Inc. is required: $25.00 individual/ $35.00 family/ $10.00 student (full-time).

Requirements: St. Louis show
1-3 pieces, framed/ready to hang/display in case, CLEARLY LABELED with TITLES, MEDIA, and INSURANCE VALUES, w/glass or Plexiglas (plastic) if appropriate. Ceramics, large, heavy artwork and sculptures MAY BE OK for the St. Louis show, if space permits.

World Trade Center St. Louis, 121 S. Meramec, St. Louis, MO 63105 (Clayton).
DATES:
May 4th – May 31st, 2012 (Including installation and dis-installation days).
Complete show is open to the public May 7th – May 30th, 2012, 7am-6pm.
RECEPTION/VERNISSAGE: FRIDAY, May 18th, 5:00-6:30pm.
Artists’ Reception for Members and Friends! Refreshments provided. This year we will have a delegation of French artists attending, to commemorate their 30th Anniversary of participation in Art Exchanges with St. Louis-Lyon Sister Cities!
INTENTION TO PARTICIPATE, PLUS ALL INFORMATION MUST BE RECEIVED by Friday, April 20th, 2012, OR SOONER IF POSSIBLE.
Please contact by telephone, e-mail, or mail. Artists must arrange in advance to bring their work to Mark, OR deliver to World Trade Center Saint Louis at show’s installation (arrange in advance), 2:00pm-5:00pm, Friday, May 4th.
Please submit information early since it must be entered, recorded for insurance, and printed prior to installation, and space is limited!
Current 2012 Membership and Artists’ Fees must be paid prior to or at time of St. Louis show’s installation.

Requirements: Lyon show
THEME: To be announced (later in the year), plus other themes are usually accepted.
ONE PIECE, CLEARLY LABELED on back, etc., 21″x27″ Maximum Size, $100 Maximum Insurance Value (sale price can be set higher). No heavy frames, glass, or fragile work. Paintings on stretcher bars, matted prints/photographs/drawings protected with acetate/Plexiglas/bubble wrap OK. If space allows, artists may submit second pieces for consideration.
Insurance values must be kept VERY LOW for shipping and French Customs. Our ENTIRE SHIPMENT must be less than $2500 in value. The French have been paying a 5.5% tax just to RECEIVE our artwork, plus their own, and we have recently been forced to pay similar Customs fees for their artwork, plus even our own artwork’s return. We have never had to file an insurance claim, though, but it is a small risk we have to take. In most cases, participants in this show must be participants of the St. Louis show in May.
DATES: To be announced. Artists, members, and friends are invited to attend the festivities in France usually in late October! If interested, please contact St. Louis-Lyon Sister Cities, Inc. or Mark for contact information, itinerary, and a possible group trip this year.
ARTWORK, plus TITLE, MEDIA, and INSURANCE VALUE INFORMATION MUST BE RECEIVED(tentatively) BY SEPTEMBER 1st, 2012. Art for France may be delivered to Mark at dis-installation of St Louis Show, Friday, May 31th, 2pm-5:00pm. PLEASE NOTE: The same artwork does not need to be featured in both shows, AND artwork sent to France should be returned to us by January/February, 2013.
